Yet another Ducati’s launched at EICMA is the air-cooled Monster 797 , bringing back Bologna’s 803cc two-valve engine to the Monster family.


Ducati has gone back to the Monster’s original roots of an engin on wheels and not much else with the 797, stripping away the bodywork that’s been  gradually making its way onto Monsters in the last 10 years.


The 797 is about as naked as it gets, with attention once again focused on the gas tank, the design of which has become a trademark in itself and a big money earner for the brand.


A budget-focused motorcycle, the Ducati Monster 797 comes with a double-sided swingarm, non-adjustable Kayaba 43mm forks, a Sachs rear shock  with adjustable pre-load and rebound only, and a banana-style seat.


The Monster 797 mounts twin Brembo M432, 4-piston monoblock calipers and 320mm  discs to the front of the bike, and a single 245mm disc and Brembo caliper to the rear. Both ends feature Bosch ABS.


Pirelli Diablo Rosso II dual-compound tires are mounted to 10-spoke alloy wheels in 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 front and rears sizes, respectively.


The Monster 797 features a traditional tubular Ducati  trellis frame, while the headlight, indicators, and LCD instrumentation are characterized by contemporary design and current technological trends.


 The Monster 797 weighs 193 kg / 425 lbs wet, and comes standard with dual-channel ABS, courtesy of Bosch.
